The Boatshed in Wellington is already a gorgeous venue in her natural form. Sitting pretty on Wellingtons waterfront she shows off her heritage beauty by day and charms you by night surrounding herself in city lights. I was delighted at the opportunity to style this Wellington beauty, utilising her low bearing beams for hanging and the angelic window frames for backdrops that flood with glorious natural light. Being so angelic I decided a simple and clean botanic style would enhance her elegance with a pop of gold. Jasmine scented the room as I filled planter hangers id earlier sprayed gold, removing the coconut husks and hanging each one above the round tables. White linen squares were used in the center of the tables to keep the setting simple with antique brass ornaments and Temple Bells Pieris falling from lab beakers. For the ceremony sheer draping was used above to mark the aisle as candles and flower filled beakers pathed the way. It was enough to have just two large jasmine filled planters hanging either side of these colossal framed window - not to take away from the venues natural charm. To complete the setting i needed some gorgeous models, a dapper suit and a breathtaking dress. Its not a wonder i have used both Sally Eagle and Frank Casey in the past for styled shoots... Sallys dresses are an elegance of their own, from her unique vintage inspired designs to the quality fabrics, her collection is certainly a luxury every bride deserves. I immediately fell in love with her Teresa + Bette dress when i saw it. It was perfect for the styling and boasted every element - angelic, clean, pure and elegant. It was made for a botanic beauty. Brad Goldstone and the team at Frank Casey suit hire in Wellington are not only an absolute pleasure to deal with, they have everything from your sexy tux to the latest fashion trends. I wanted something different for this shoot - something daring - and i was right to leave it in the capable hands of Brad the Manager and Dom our hair stylist and fashion guru and how smooth did our groom look!? Kirsty Bunny Management provided us with our gorgeous models Islay and Joe. Not only did they look stunning, they were an absolutely delight to work with! They were patient and seemed to embrace the shoot. Kirsty was so helpful picking out the perfect look for our shoot and it was all so EASY! Now to our hard working collaboration stars... Her use of natural light is incredible and Jo takes you back to the setting as if you were there all over again.
